Choosing laundry appliances in Southampton

Washing machines, tumble dryers and washer dryers, all in stock at our Woolston showroom. If you are replacing a machine that has died, we can usually deliver, install and take the old one away in the same visit.

Washing machine, tumble dryer, or one machine that does both?

A separate washing machine and tumble dryer will out-perform a combined washer dryer on both jobs and cost less to run, so choose them if you have the space. A washer dryer makes sense in a flat or a small kitchen where there is only room for one machine — just be aware the drying load is usually about half the washing load, so a full wash has to be split to dry.

Getting the size right

• 7kg — one or two people.
• 8kg — the most popular size, right for most families.
• 9–10kg — larger households, bedding, or washing most days.

Half-empty loads waste water and electricity, so a bigger drum only costs more to run if you never fill it.

Delivery, installation and recycling

Delivery is free across Southampton and the surrounding SO and PO postcodes. Our own engineers connect the machine, check it runs, and take the old one away for recycling — no separate collection to arrange.

Repair or replace?
