Buying a gas cooker in Southampton
Freestanding gas cookers, delivered across the SO and PO postcodes. Simple to swap into an existing gap, with the gas connection handled by a Gas Safe engineer.
Measure the gap first
Gas cookers come mainly in 50cm and 60cm widths. Measure the opening between the units and allow a little clearance either side. Check the height against the worktop too, and remember the hob lid needs room to lift if the model has one.
Single or double oven
A double cavity gives you a separate grill and a second oven for sides, which is the difference between one dish at a time and a full Sunday lunch. A single oven with a built-in grill is simpler and leaves more usable height in the main cavity.
Installation — arranged with a Gas Safe engineer
By law a gas cooker must be connected and disconnected by a Gas Safe registered engineer. We deliver the appliance and can take the old one away; the gas connection itself needs a Gas Safe engineer, which we can point you towards. Our own repair team covers electric cooking appliances only.
