Built-under is not the same as built-in

A built-under double oven is made to fit beneath a standard worktop — typically around 72cm tall. A built-in double oven is taller and goes in a full-height housing unit. They are not interchangeable, so check which one is coming out before you order the replacement.

What the second cavity is for

The upper cavity is usually smaller and doubles as the grill. It heats faster than the main oven, so it earns its keep for sides, reheating and anything that would be wasteful to fire up the big oven for.

Repair or replace?
