Buying a gas hob in Southampton
Gas hobs give you instant, visible heat control and work with any pan you already own. We supply and deliver across Southampton and Portsmouth.
Burners and supports
Most four-burner hobs pair two medium burners with a small one for simmering and a larger wok or rapid burner. Cast iron pan supports are worth having over enamelled steel — they are steadier under a heavy pan and they do not discolour the way thinner supports do.
Cleaning
Removable burner caps and one-piece supports make the difference between a five-minute wipe and a job. Look for the fewest separate parts you can, because every joint is somewhere spills collect.
Installation — gas work is not something we carry out
A gas hob must be fitted and disconnected by a Gas Safe registered engineer. We supply and deliver the appliance; the gas connection needs to be arranged separately with a Gas Safe engineer. Our own repair team covers electric cooking appliances only.
